Hello from Cyprus

Hello i am new to the forum and to caravaning. I live with my family in Cyprus and i always liked camping and outdoors 2 motns ago we got our first caravan Adria 460B renovated and we already used it once. I can tell is the best expirience of inland holidays we ever had. My kids enjoy nature so much. Since in cyprus we dont have so many organized places for caravans but actually one can find many nice and quiet place to park at the mountains and beaches are ideal for few days to relax specially this year that winter forgot to visit us Anyone have ever expirience caravaning cyprus i would like to hear from!!!

We regard Cyprus as our second home, having once lived there and we now regularly holiday there. We know it very well.

Are you in the south of the island?

Before 1974, we used to have caravan holidays at a small site near Kyrenia. The people that owned the site had a small number of Swift Major caravans that they rented out and they also took visiting camper vans. At night a 'campfire' was lit and we all used to sit around talking, eating and drinking a glass or two of wine! Alas, that all ended after the invasion. I believe there is still a campsite in the Polis area?

Fantastic, friendly island and we have many friends there.

Hello it took me long to reply but i was renovating my house so i was out of work and out of computer!!!

Wow i am really impressed!!! to find somebody who was here caraving !! i my self didnt know we had such services in Kyrenia amazing !!! Are you coming here often? i live in Limassol. Yes Polis still exist and it offers much more services than before i use to go there from my early 10s with my family but we were staying on tent i always like and love outdoors staying. Here we have now actually 4 camping places on the troodos mountains with facilities and 4 at the seaside its a small island thought so somebody can say 8 camping places are fair enough!!! Where do you stay when you visit here? Did you visit any other camping places?

Glad to hear your family have really taken to caravanning! It's good that there are now 8 camping places. We only caravanned at the site at Kyrenia. We knew the camp site at Polis, but never camped there.

The Akamas is one of our very favourite areas - so peaceful and the wild flowers are lovely to see in springtime.

Hope you continue to enjoy your caravanning for many years to come.

Greetings, Costas, from Ireland. My late wife and I had two, great holidays in Cyprus. So many happy memories of our visits to your lovely island.

Driving on your mountains really scared me, expecially when I saw the roadside shrines!

We did not see any caravans at the time, and was not aware you have caravan parks. Eight parks is great for Cyprus!
