Hi Twindaddy, welcome to the forum, and soon to be, the world of vanning.
Good luck in your search for the van, others on here will recommend suitable triple bunkers.

Hi Twindaddy, welcome to the Practical Caravan forum.
First of all before you spend any money you will need to find out what your vehicle can tow safely and legally This may help

If you passed your driving test after 01/01/1997 the weight of the caravan that you are allowed to tow may be restricted, don't splash the cash on something that you might be unable to tow.

The Buyers Guide in the Practical Caravan magazine provides up to date listings of new British and Continental new caravans including details of weights and layouts, a browse throught it will provide a basis from which to start your search for your caravan.
Ask forum members for advice on what to look out for before you buy,
Good luck and enjoy your search

Hi. Happy hunting. Other ways to search are to have a look on the caravanfinder website to give you an idea of the different models or, better still go to a large dealership and spend time getting in and out of vans to find the best bunk layouts for you and (presumably) your children. If you have teenagers or even pre-teens it is a good idea to take them with you and get them to lie in the bunks as some bunks are very snug and larger kids will complain.

look at the bunk sizes with the triple bunks as opposed to a variety of twin bunks with other layouts. Also consider whether you are going to use sites with full facilities or not as this will also dictate the size and layout of bathroom you may want to consider with children. and thus the bunk layout. There will always be a compromise to be made but we find with the five of us (all girls except me) and two dogs that the side fixed bunks, side dinette opposite and end bathroom suits us best. We spend most of our time on CL's/CS's without facilities and so the end washroom comes into its own. there is of course a size and weight penalty to pay, impacting on the towcar required.
