Hi everyone, found this site today and it looks really helpful!
I'm 30 and my Wife is 28, we have three children ages 4, 7, and 10.
We are quite new to caravanning (this is our first caravan and have owned it for just over a year), but I grew up spending many weekends with my parents in their caravan.
We are a bit "different" when it comes to our outfit! My Son and I race Motorcross bikes, and we have a 30 foot American caravan which has a garage for our bikes. It has a side slide out and a rear slide out, and is fully self contained as we are normaly parked at a muddy motocross track with no electric or water. I tow it with an American 4x4 (which has a GVW of 3600kgs) it is converted to run on LPG and seats 8 people.
We have found this a perfect combination for our needs, as we can load up our bikes and stay away from home whilst at the races - or use it for family holidays (the garage space is ideal for all the kids toys, and even an airer/clothes dryer!)
We were thinking of buying a motorhome with a garage, but I din't like the idea of taxing and MOTing another vehicle jsut to use at weekends - also the 4X4 is great for taking the kids and their friends out.
Bye for now
Chris
