Hello to everyone.
Well we are complete novices to caravanning and not yet had our first outing which should be some time in early october allthough we have slept in the caravan on the drive for one night ! can,t wait to do it for real, looking forward to getting out and about and hopefully making new friends along the way, still can,t decide where to go first so any advice on sites within a hours drive from Grimsby would be apprieciated. Caravan is a Vanroyce 365/2 around 1990 vintage in fantastic condition and seems to be so much better made than some other vans that we see, i love it! anyway hope to meet some of you on our travels in the future.
Keith.

Hello Keith, welcome to the Practical Caravan forum and congratulations on buying your first caravan. Van Royce caravans had the reputation of being well put together (see the Editors Blog) and you are in a great area for caravanners with the flat countryside which makes for easy towing.
Our sister website Caravan Sitefinder lists several caravan parks close to Grimsby
depending on whether you want a quiet or more lively getaway. There is plenty of advice available from this forum if you should need it, my advice is to make a list of things that you will need ( I save ours on the computer and print it off when we need it), take your time and above all enjoy!

Hello Keith, welcome to the forum. Fancy sleeping in the van on the drive!!!! ROFL Just kidding, I know what you mean, each time we've got a new van I've been so excited I was practically jumping up and down with glee. We've gone straight away for a few days as soon as we picked up a new van each time, as we just couldn't wait to try them out. Van Royce's are lovely vans, we had a look inside one at a dealer's once. Congratulations.

Hello we are new to it too! (except when we were kids). We've just bought 1990 caravan too and spent day playing in it ! Making tea and putting up awning. We haven't even got tow bar so can't take it anywhere yet! Happy caravanning.

Hi Keith, Hi Sobey. Nice to meet you. There is loads of help and advice and friendly folk on here and even a few miserable beggars so that everyone can feel at home. Keep posting.
