Hi Trevor, and welcome!
I have to ask - does the husky pull the caravan, or do you use a car like everyone else?
Anyway, back in the real world.... Caravans and motorhomes are very different animals, and each has its advantages. You'll have been used to pitching on a site and making that your home for a few days, or longer. Motorhomes have drawbacks there, as you won't have a car to use during your stay, and to go anywhere in the van you have to put everything away!
BUT... motorhomes really come into their own for touring. Personally, we like to travel around in the van, seeing and doing what we want to during the day, and just find a site or stopover to cook, eat and sleep.
Of course, most people in both types do some of each, but think about which will be your main style.
