Been away in the van this weekend and the electrical flush/rinse function on my loo has stopped working. It's the modern swivel type with a integrated cistern. I've checked the waste compartment and the wiring seems intact and the fuse looks ok, The van is a 2009 Bailey Ranger GT60 any ideas much appreciated.

Hi Cobbers Im not too well up with serial numbers to these things but I had a problem with ours and it turned out to be the blue button on top of the flush ..I had mine replaced under the warrenty and is fine ,the new board is some what updated to the original what happens is the button tends to get pressed a little too hard and the circuit board bends and doesnt make the the contacts within.
You can take it apart easy job and you may possibly be able to get it to work again ,,,sorry thats the best I can do.
Oh ours was on a 2010 caravan so it could well be the same problem

Hi Cobbers
Is there any leakage from the cistern pump?
Did you get and fit the Thetford modification pipe which enables full drain down of the pump?
Thetford have had previous problems whereby people with the C250 CWE model were draining down for winter but water was remaining in the pump.It then froze breaking the pump.
If you have a circuit tester check there is power to the pump terminals and its fuse.
See this link:-

Good luck.

I also have a GT60. When you open the door to the casette at the bottom right hand corner there is a connector, have you got voltage there. If not check fuse inside van at fuse panel under seat front. If you have voltage at connector,it may be pump stuck if not used recently.Drain water from tank and remove tube on pump, then remove pump by pulling lugs each side of pump outwards and pulling pump down from tank. You can then see if impeller turns,if not, usually you can move it with a small screwdriver poked in.Other than that if voltage at connector ok,fuse ok ,then prize cover with push button on top off tank by going round with a thin knife to part seal and check switch under button.

Hi Cobbers,
I suggest you first establish whether the problem is electrical or mechanical. An easy way to do this is to disconnect the van from any EHU so that the 12v systems are running from the battery on its own. Then switch on one of the caravan halogen lights. Now operate the button for the loo flush. If the halogen bulb dims slightly, then power is getting to the pump and you have a mechanical problem with the pump/impeller. If no dimming, then no power is getting to the pump and you have an electrical problem.
I also once had a problem with the switch under the push button while on a continental tour. Thetford supply replacement switch/button assemblies. However, for the remainder of the trip I rigged up an external switch connected into the top of the header tank.
Best of luck.
Cheers
Paul

Thanks all for your suggestions. All was working fine for first couple of days so I doubt it is frost. I will send for the free retrofit from Thetford via the link sent by Dustydog. If that doesn't work I'll get it fixed under warranty prior to its third birthday. Cheers all.

When our GT60 toilet would not work it was also a flush button fault - I think we'd been pressing down too hard on it
Just peel off - as others have said - and reconnect to circuit board - very quick and easy

Hi Catherine,
Well............went along equipped with sharp knife to peel off cover, electrical testing screwdriver, lots of advice from Forum pals, confident I would sort it out. Strangely, it had started working again of its own volition. Probably dodgy contacts as you suggest so I know what to do if it happens again.
Thanks again.
