Help needed for a talk I'm giving

Hi

Could anyone help me please? Don't know if any of you know but I am quite high up in the WI (Midlands region). I've been asked to give a talk entitled 'How to make the perfect cheese straw'.

Unfortunately, all my cookery books were destroyed by flood, therefore, could anyone recommend a delicious recipe which I could pass off as my own.

Any help greaty appreciated.

Thanks.

Lisa.

This found on the net, not sure about using Parmesan, cheddar is a great all rounder. Vegetable lard, might be another puzzler, but it's a start Lisa.

225g/8 oz Glutafin gluten-free Pastry Mix

75g/3 oz butter, at room temperature

25g/1 oz vegetable lard

25g/1 oz Parmesan cheese, grated

1 medium egg

2 x 15 ml tbsp cold water

Oven Temp: 200

Lol

Thanks so much - I'll try it out tomorrow night, sounds absolutely delicious. I'm sure I'll be able to pass it off as my own.

Incidently - would you be interested in coming along to one of our talks and give a speech about something? We've recently had talks on subjects such as how to use a screwdriver in poor light conditions, how to shampoo a poodle, alternatives to patchwork quilt making, all interesting and informative subjects.

Lisa, I am surprised that you woul dwant to "Pass someone elses recipe off as your own", apart form being downright decietful, it is plagiarism at its worst.

Wouldn't it be better to honestly admit that your recipe was lost in the floods, but you have found this recipe , which you believe tobe probably as good as your own.

Thanks for your reply. The sight of seeing my cookery books floating down the road in the floods was a very traumatic experience for me. However, in an attempt to overcome this, I intend to present a recipe for the perfect cheese straw, not important to some, but to me it means everything. I've never tried to pass a recipe off as my own before but due to a short timescale on this occasion, I'm going to have to do it. The shame of having to admit my books were lost is too much for me to bear. (It was my fault as I didn't put them back in the bookcase just before the floods).

I've got some gift vouchers for Amazon which I'll be using quite soon to replemish stocks.

Regards

Lisa.

Looks like a bit of crawling is going on here Lol
Look Roy, if it diverts attention away from me and back onto you, and gets me in the good cook books, I'll do it.

No offence Lisa ;o)

Did the talk tonight, just got in, the cheese straws went down a storm, so did the talk. Have handed copies of 'your' recipe out. Expect some calls.
