A friend of mine has just rung me,he is on holiday at Paington in his Swift 500? Challenger 2007?

The problem is that when he switches on the hot water it spurtles (technical term)for a couple of minutes and then settles, this is like when you first fill the system and get the air out. What happens then is if you use the hot again in say half an hour it happens again,it sounds like air getting into the tank but he cany find any water leaks. He has drained the system and refilled, but still the same, and he has checked all joints for tightness.

I think his system is microswitch taps and not pressure switch but to me it sounds like a problem with a non return valve,is there one somewhere.

Sorry not to be too clear but I have not seen the problem for myself, all suggestions welcome.

The van will almost certainly be fitted with the Truma Ultrastore.

There is a non return valve fitted to the cold water inlet pipe, which by the sound of it is not working and needs replacing

Thanks for that but the cold runs ok,would that not affect both systems.

Is there a valve in the line sfter it splits between the supply to the cold taps and the supply to the tank.

Job sorted not helped by almost non existent mobile phone signal.

I looked in my van and was then able to descride the non return valve and its location,he took it off blown through with airline at the garage and refitted all now well with the world.

Thanks for contributions.
