Hi,

We have just bought a new car and it has a tow bar fitted but with one electric connector 13 pin - our caravan has two connectors one for the lights and one to charge and it does not fit onto the car one? We have just been to try and collect the caravan not realising they vary? Can you get adapters or how would this work?

Thanks

That is great news. Thank you for coming back to so quick we were a bit worried as we went to pick it up from storage as we travel to France Monday!

the adapter are about 2 feet long though so youll need some cable ties or something else to stop it trailling on the road

If you use a fairly soft elastic strap to suspend your cable via the jockey wheel handle, it will keep the cable up off the ground and allow freedom of movement.

Why not get rid of the grotty 7 pin connectors altogether?

Strip both caravan cables back for about 9 inches, combine the wires and tape them as a single cable and fit a 13 pin plug.

This is cheaper than the converter cable and is more secure ( and elegant).

Many of the converter cables are also incorrectly wired.

Of course, the above should read, "strip the outer covering back" etc.

Check, the 13 pins socket on car does not always have all the pins wired, often missing fridge supply.
