Hi

Wonder if anyone can help? The site which I have tried to book for begining of August (Camping Bel) cannot take my size caravan as their very busy period. The site was a quiet site with very good reviews. I cannot find another site that is in the Vendee region that is a small one with good write up, and therefore have short listed the following sites however I am not 100% sure right for us. My children are 2 years and 5 years.

There is availablity at Sequoia park (only just) because of a cancellation and Camping La Yole have availablity.

Sequoi park is considerably more expensive. I just wondered if anyone had stayed at either of these sites and could offer any advice or if anyone knows of any other smaller sites in the vendee region they can recommend, however I have researched many now, but you never know.

Either site in the first part of August is going to be extremely busy. Sequoia Park is great but even in low season with the site one quarter full the pool area gets packed. La Yole is a smaller site but still has large mobile home presence. I think SP has larger better laid out pitches and in either site you need to pack the car for the day to reach the beaches. There is a small beach within walking distance of La Yole which may get busy. I would probably lean towards SP but cannot comment further as I have not been to either in high season. Some friends have been to SP last year during the last 2 weeks of August and although it was very busy they did enjoy it. We also have young children and the first time we went to SP they were ages 6 and 2. They love it and always ask to go back.

Hi Its not on the Vendee but Southern Brittany a site called La Baie. Very small site with direct access to lovely beaches. Great pool, not too big perfect for little ones. Really friendly site we are returning for the 3rd time in Aug. I have been to St Jean De monts where La Yole is and I have to say I much prefer the area around La Baie. SP is a very big site and I think better if you have older children. Just my opinion. My children are 8 and twins of 5.

Many thanks, I have decided not to go for either site, they just dont feel right for us. Looking at 2 other sites now, I have made 2 further postings asking for advice on them.
