Hi to everyone, I'm new on here.

I recently returned to caravanning after a break of around 15 years. I drive a Daewoo Nubira estate and tow a Sterling Voyager 450CD which I recently purchased.

Most trips that I make will be with my two greyhounds, who I adopted in May this year. They are both retired racers, they used to race at Great Yarmouth and are amazingly lazy (as are virtually all greyhounds

). Other trips may very occasionally include my 18 year old daughter, or otherwise a friend or two, but that's even more unlikely!

Hi Rock and Roll Ruby, welcome to the Practical Caravan forum.
I think that your username is great, I once had a Jerry Lee Lewis LP with a track called Rock and Roll Ruby and there are a few old rockers about on the forum.
Congratulations on the Sterling, I bet the seats are comfortable if you can get the greyhounds off them for long enough to try them for yourself

My ex had a couple of greyhounds and they'd just sit on top of you if you didn't move, they loved their comfort.

. Mine played the "wouldn't be seen dead...." card at 16. Well done!

Hi Ruby - we've been camping for fourteen years, and then caravanning for sixteen years now - mostly in France and others parts of Europe. Our teenagers 'dropped out' at sixteen, but came back again when the eldest was eighteen when he wanted a cheap holiday (with friends) and we ended up with seven teenagers at one time, in various pup tents on our pitch! A few years later our nineteen year old did a season with Canvas Holidays, and of course wanted 'a holiday before starting work' - so he and another nineteen year old came with us!
Now, thank goodness, they camp on their own. They've just come back from a fabulous time camping at Fontainbleau where they've been climbing - so they've must have enjoyed their camping holidays in the past.
Enjoy your caravanning - it's the best holiday there is. (And at least we don't have to pay air passenger duty to get away!)
