Hey there, well My hubby and I have just ordered a Sprite Major 6. spanking brand new, Our current van is a compass 4 berth 94 model so its a bit of a step up for us.

We have a son who's three and a boxer dog plus will be looking to take my neice who's 3 also away when we go. We live in Central Scotland and often go away within an hours drive, but considering a journet to cornwall in the summer.. (not gonna be easy with 2 3 year olds...eeek.

Just wanted to say Hi and see if all you caravanners are as sociable on the web as you's are in the field... :)

Havent yet decided on getting an awning yet as we usually tend to go away for 2 nights and don't know if I could be bothered with the faffing around all the time, any advice oh knowledgable ones????

Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Donna x

Hi Donna - I'd make an awning your next investment - but try without one first on your weekends. If you go away for any length of time it just makes somewhere to put everything out of the wet if it's raining, or to sit in outside and enjoy the sunshine it it's not! Awnings with removeable panels make good sunshades on really hot days too if you take all the panels out.

Enjoy Cornwall and your trips away.

Hi Donna

Welcome to the forum.

I agree with the rest get yourself an awning, even a porch awning they can come in very handy. We our Granchildren with us this year and they are 18 months and 2 years.

How old is your Boxer I love them. We used to have one and he died of a heart attack when he was 10.

Hi Donna

We use the porch awning for short stays and anything over a week , up goes the Izzy.

With our two dogs believe me the porch awning is a godsend. We have space for all the muddy boots and somewhere to wash down the Springers.

I think with your flock I'd have to put up at least the porch.

A modern porch awning can be erected fairly quickly and with minimal pegging out.

Cheers
