Hello Mr Bell and welcome to the Practical Caravan forum.
I'm not too sure of the reasons why you are having trouble posting, can you describe the sort of thing that is happening please?
If you are using Internet Explorer 9 you can change the setting to make it easier to post on this forum Click Here for more information.
There are no problems from using other web browsers as far as I'm aware

I just read this as I have problems posting as well. I was writing it in word and copy and pasting it. I even disabled the rich text at the bottom of this box

I have IE9 and have just changed the settings as described by parksy, I m` about to post now so I`ll see if it worked.

Thank you, it worked....hurray

Hi there well i followed your instructions on posting on here and it has worked.

Ok where do i start, me and my fiance have a Bailey Ranger 2000 460/2 which is a lovely caravan, we did borrow this van off my parents and recently we where given the caravan as a present for our wedding so as you may gather we are very excited. I used to tow the caravan with a 03 mondeo TDCI 130 but had too many problems with the car so the time being dont have my own car to tow.
So instead i will be using my parents car which is a citreon C3 Picasso which i have been told by my parents it tows the caravan no bother.
The caravan we have is very standard, it has the alko system on which is great as keeps everything stable when driving. We are both members of camping and caravan and caravan club which we have used a few times.
I have just subscribed to the magazine as already have found a few extras that we could use for going away.
I am very keen on keeping the caravan in really good condition and also would like to know on tow cars so me and my fiance can have a decent car as will be getting two labradours soon from friends who are moving away, the car will need to be big enough but also not too heavy as limited to 3500kg.
Phew i thinks that it at the mo.

I'm glad that you have been able to add your posts Mr Bell, this incompatibility issue is a nuisance and I'll ask our tech guys to take a look at it.
Congratulations on the forthcoming nuptials and on your ready made honeymoon suite on wheels, I'm sure that a query on the Tow-cars section will elicit some advice on your next tow car.
We are members of the C&CC but we mainly use certified sites and we go on weekend rallies to maximise the use of our caravan to it's full potential, have you ever considered rallying?
I hope that you and your bride will enjoy many happy times in your caravan with your new doggy family, good luck.

until now i have never thought about rallies but very interested in going to one or two as i love going away. The honeymoon wont be in the caravan but we will be using the caravan lots after the wedding.
On the side of travelling i dont mind travilling as long as where i am going is worth it!
Thanks for the help with the forum, it was exactly what you had said. Its an easy fix tho.
What do you do on rallies?? Is there any happening soon?

Both the CC and the C&CC hold rallies almost every week from Feb/ March through until Oct / Nov.
The main difference between the clubs as far as I can tell is that CC members are required to book places on rallies (I'm sure that somebody will correct me if I'm wrong) and on the C&CC rallies it's ok to simply turn up without prior booking except on very popular rallies with limited pitch availability when there may be entertainment on offer.
Camping & Caravanning Club rallies are open to both caravanners and tenters who are club members, when you join you automatically become a district association member in your local area.
These d.a's will almost certainly hold weekly caravan rallies which could be at places of interest such as castles or stately homes, places with lovely scenery or other rally sites perhaps close to picturesque towns or popular country pubs.
Some rallies stage events, walks, fêtes, dog shows etc and others might hold evening entertainment, all for nominal prices.
You can attend any da rally in the UK as a C&CC member so you can plan a rally itinerary or just stick to d.a's in your own area.
Rallies are usually held at venues with no electric hook up or toilet / shower blocks so on board facilities are used which wouldn't suit everybody of course.
We don't miss the ehu because we have come to know many of our fellow rally goers who have passed on countless tips and good advice in the past couple of years. A good leisure battery will easily last over a weekend with care and there is always someone who would help out with a spare leisure battery or a charge up from their solar panel. (we carry a spare battery and we use an 80w solar panel and we've helped fellow rally goers out)
Give it a go, it might not be for you but you'd be surprised at how many 30 somethings come to our rallies. (our local committee are young) Their kids grow up together and can play in a totally safe environment, rally goers bring their dogs, cats and even gerbils and you soon become part of the community.
You don't have to join in on anything, you can do your own thing if you prefer and it's the best way that I know of to use your caravan to the max without spending a fortune whilst being allowed to pitch up where no one else can

Thanks for all that info about rallies, it sounds really good! How do you find out where and when the rallies are on?? Do people just post something on here. I am still a beginner for caravaning as only been away a few times. The toliet part doesnt bother me too much as long as can get rid of the waste on site.
We have only been to sites with facilities at the mo just to get used to caravaning.

You're welcome Mr B.
Each C&CC has it's own website and shows links to all of the others. The rally programme for the year is shown on the d.a. website, for example Gloucester da have a meet coming up at the Royal International Air Tattoo, Fairford but the main site is booked now (places are still available on their 2nd site though) At £7.50 per unit per night it's good value. The rallies are also listed in the C&CC magazine which all members receive.
The d.a.'s also have what are called Temporary Holiday Sites, our West Midlands da has a THS on the rugby club in St Ives, Cornwall this year and all d.a.'s run THS. On some of them you could stay on a large commercial site with full facilities in high season for a fraction of the normal cost paid by non C&CC members.
You can join the C&CC Here or have a browse around the C&CC website to find out more
