Hi

I am looking for a good site near Newquay with lots of things to do,(for our teenage boys), I am quite happy to sit and relax with a good book, but they need to be doing something, also need some good amenities on site, We are looking to go at the beginning of August any idea`s?

I have checked Trevornick out on the internet and lt does look very nice, it is also quite central so easy to get around.

Has anybody else been to this site, what atre toilets and showers like?

Paul,

We stayed at Trevornick the summer before last. There is plenty for teenagers to do. There's also Golf course and an amusement park adjacent to the site. Some of the pitches need levelling blocks and the toilets/showers were good. Short drive to Holywell or Fistral beaches. The evening entertainment was good as well from memory (my kids are a bit younger though).

Only negative was someone decided to have a party in their awning in the field behind us one night but the onsite security sorted them out.

The site entertainment team had teenager type clubs as well.

I'd recommend it. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Mathew

My vote goes on Trevornick, have been to Hendra, Monkey tree in the area as well.

Trevornick is a quieter site and much nearer to the beach - just a walk through the dunes, but it can be a struggle with lots of gear or if you find walking hard. There are also some excellent cliff top walks straight from the park.

For the amusement park it is worth bulk buying tokens at the start of the holiday with a voucher from reception and then ration them out - works out cheaper. I also managed to pick some up cheap from a day visitor at closing time (he approached me).

Shower toilet facilities good, nice entertainment area with 2 bars. Basic outdoor heated pool and a good kids play area.

Hendra is a nightmare for queueing at the swimming pool.

Many members simply log on to post on the forum but the Practical Caravan website is much more than just one forum.

Click on the Caravan Sitefinder logo on this webpage then scroll down and click on the caravan sitefinder link and you will gain access to the Sitefinder which provides details of prices, facilities etc of caravan parks throughout the UK.

Click on the area that you wish to visit and details of sites in the chosen area will be shown.

There are details of 294 sites in Cornwall alone.

Click Here to go straight to sitefinder, I thought that I'd add the link to save Sprocket the bother :0)

Of course he is, I'm only kidding.

It saves a lot of copy / pasting into web browsers.

Lutz posted a very helpful link tutorial a short while back which I might link to on the 'our website' section when I find it later.

We went to Hendra last August and my 10 year old loved it (she is only 10, but due to her height and maturity, is constantly thought to be a teen by people who don't know her actual age). There is loads to do including learning how to ride a landsurfer - a cross between a skateboard and a surfboard. You have to pay extra (
