Hi.

I'm going to have to move my caravan from its current [free] storage to somewhere where i'll have to pay. The problem is I've no idea what to expect to pay. could anyone tell me what the 'going rate' is per week / month?

I've approched a local bloke with a big yard who has varoius vehicles stored, he seemed interested, but he had no idea what kind of rate to charge for caravan storage.

Cheers Gareth

Hi Gareth.

The answer to your question is how long is a piece of string?

It all depends on where you are, what facilities are being offered and whether or not there is any competition in the area.

I store mine on a Gold Cassao site that provides very limited services. There are no other storage sites in the in the South Bedfordshire area, so they can charge large amounts of money for the privilege. In fact I pay

Like many things, it depends - facilities, security and local land prices all have a major bearing - I'd guess anywhere between

If you intend to use storage facilities make sure you check them first to see how safe & secure your caravan will be when stored there and also ask your insurance company if it will be ok.

Better to ask first !

Cheers Guys

Its a secure yard, secure, well lit & opposite the fire station so 24 hour comings & goings.

Very low crime area & it'll be visibly clamped.

I was thinking a tenner a week , but that's way OTT.

Even a fiver a week is

Prices can range from a 'freebie' if you know the owner to anything over

You do get an insurance discount for a CASSOA site but this may not be significant if the rental is cheap. Do check with your insurance Company though so that they are happy with what you are doing.

It made no difference to my insurance premiums what so ever when the site I am on was graded a Gold Class site.

Re Insurance.

I was with E&L, they stipuated all kinds of locks , guards, alarms etc.

now i'm with the caravan club it just says I have to take all reasonalbe measures or words to that effect.

I'm sure being in a locked compound wheel clamped, hitch locked & with locking corner steadies will be enough for a 16 year old caravan!

Cheers for all the advice

Gareth
