Having caravanned for 18+ years, i find that the internet is my first port of call to look for answers to more technical questions.

As i am newish to the forum consept, i like the idea of lots of people helping others, but have found it difficult to get a good answer, as an example, on a different website someone wrote "My blower will not heat up my unit properly" the answers came back, including "Have you lit your gas fire".

I know people here would not do that, this has led me to ask "Is there a database somewhere with DRAWINGS to help" as i personally prefer a picture. So is there a secret location giving lots of glorious exploded views, and what is this grail's name, also how do i log on, please pretty please.

Thetford have a good set of instruction diagrams for servicing and repairing toilets - but haven't seen one which combines all the bits and pieces. There are some good instruction manuals, though - our Caravan Dealer stocks one, which seems very comprehensive.

'The Caravan Manual' by John Wickersham is an excellent book. It is quite comprehensive and covers most technical problems a caravanner is likely to experience and explains how to fix them. It has plenty of accompanying photographs and diagrams. It contains a lot of information, not only for newbies, but experienced caravanners too. We got ours from Amazon and it's tucked away in the caravan to refer to just in case we get a problem.

There is also 'The Motorcaravan Manual' by the same author.

I thank all the forum members for the feedback.

my quest has started a spree of letters to various manufacturers, asking if they are considering placing more technical info on their websites, I awaited the replies, woe is me, i had some replies, thetford was the best closely followed by whale, BUT also the inevitable brochures of this years NEW kit, I am still waiting, and will continue the quest..
