Hi everyone,

Have just got a 1994 Elddis XL1000 Typoon, needs a little work on it, have never done this before caravaning that is, first time towing 60 miles home and Pat my wife did half of the distance with no problems.

Have already asked for help and have had some good tips.

We showed my posh sister in law it to day and she insisted we had tea in the van as she loved it.

Thanks for a great site and help so far.

We are both retired now so will have more time to enjoy it all.

It has rejuvenated our interest in each other and a new project to share for many years to come.

Reg and Pat

Welcome to the forum and to your new found hobby.

If both you and your good lady wife enjoy it as a shared passtime then I expect you will both derive great fun and enjoyment out of caravanning and looking after your van.

There ar eforum users with a combined knowledge base I believe equal to none, and most ar emore than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi there Reg. My partner and I bought a 94 Bailey Discovery in Oct 08, like you at the end of the season when people are selling them off and theres some bargains around . We spent the winter preparing it for the following Easter, she got involved inside replacing seat coverings and curtains to a more modern colour and style and replacing the carpet to match, I was really amazed at the difference she made, I started resealing the van outside during dry weather, we went through it like a dose of salts. Come Easter we polished it up... hitched up and charged off into them thar hills and we had some GREAT trips away....Enjoy.
