The part with the missing cover is the water inlet housing.
That type has been replaced by the Truma Ultraflow system.

The second item you ask abiut is the mains switch for the cascade water heaterfor when being used on electric as the fuel source.

Hello oBladeo,

I think Damian has covered the parts and functions, but I note that the water heater is not actually fitted to the caravan.

You should be made aware that for you and your families safety all gas fitting and electrics should be carried out and tested by a competent fitter.

Your photo shows a collection of bits and wiring that really do not look too wonderful. Unless you are comfortable with your abillity to get this lot tidied up I seriously suggest you got to an Approved Workshop or otherwise qualifeid person.

Very sorry to be a wet blanket but I'm concerned for your safety.

The pictures i've used are from ebay as i didn't have time to run down and take my own.

Don't worry my van is allot cleaner than that mess.

The great thing about caravans are they are so simple to fix it's just getting my head around what things are called.

Well i fitted a carver 2 last week just need to hook up the 230v socket but i've tested it in 12v and gas and works perfect. While there i also fitted a new filter and filter housing as the old one was shocking. I'll be cleaning the van once i have finished the repair work as i'm resealing the whole van. Once the van has been finished i'll have someone to gas safty check the whole lot.
