Hi can anyone help??? we are having problems with the right hand indicator on our swift challenger 530 se, it appears that it hasnt been flashing on that side at all. all the connections are ok bulbs etc, even the plug into car ok brake lights ok, and even when lights are on still no indicator on that side, tried with meter and all appears ok but not flashing, cleaned connections and changed all bulbs, but if it is connected to the left one it all works!!! any ideas???

Have a look at the 12n plug, the black one, and check the wiring connections for the right hand indicator. If you have a test lamp, earth it to the back of the car and check that the 12n socket on the back of the car makes the lamp flash. Check also that the bulb sits correctly in the holder in the light unit and that the earth is present in the lamp holder.

We had a similar problem with the lighting system on a new Swift caravan. Having taken all the light fitment apart and inspected the connections all seemed well. However, when replaced it still didn't work. So the 'boss' decided to try using my emery board on the connection(s) and this did the job. It got rid of all the corrosion and we had no further problems.

we,ve done all those things, my hubby has good knowledge with electrics and is baffled as to why he cant find it, no damp no bad connections etc etc, if we find the prob i,ll certainly let everyone know.

done that at start but made no difference all appears to be well but nothing on the right side of van, ive emptied the local garage of all their bulbs and fuses.

If you are OK with electrics then extend your meter leads and check the continuity from the live feed on the RHS indicator bulb itself to the 12N plug pin 4, it's a green wire. If no continuity you have a break somewhere in the van. If it's OK then you must have lost the earth to that side. The earth is usually common to the sidelight and brake light so if they work OK it's not an earth problem...
