Internal partition removal

I am thinking about removing the lateral partition that separates the rear bathroom from the rest of the caravan... and then removing the toilet.

I am concerned though that the partition, however flimsy, is in some way structural and integral to the rigidity of the van.

The van is a 2003 compass corona 524.

Thoughts?

Many thanks...

Most caravans need some of the internal fittings to provide structural strength. I would suggest you get a mobile caravan engineer to look at what you are proposing.

The toilet is probably the most rigid item in the caravan as it has to bear considerable loads at times :woohoo:

I agree with the Prof. Get some expert advice. My feeling is it could be part of the structure but not knowing the exact model I cannot say.
Not sure why you would do this but I do wonder if turning it into an archway might be a better bet as it should maintain the rigidity if it is needed.
