internet explorer

Morning all. I'm out of the loop for a few days, as my Internet explorer programme has failed. I'm in the library sending this, and on limited time. Behave yourselves until I get sorted!

PS, I din't think it's the real Lol either.

Try using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. More stable and less susceptible to viruses and other internet nasties. Just type Firefox into your browser and follow one of the many links. It's free as well.

thanks for the link, i to am having problems with my computer, i keep having loads of pop ups while using internet explorer and they are slowing down my computer and causing it to freeze, so i downloaded firefox and it seems much better, with no popups.

if this doesn,t work i will have to get someone to look at my computer, as i haven,t got a clue whats causing the popups.

What version of windows do you use? Also what version of Internet Explorer?

The latest version of IE is version 7 which can be downloaded from the Microsoft website. This includes a popup blocker. However it only works with Windows XP or Vista.

If you have an older windows version, go to the settings tab and select options, then clear all your cookies and temporary internet files etc. Then continue to use Firefox as your internet program. Hopefully you won't be plagued with popups again.

If you have XP, make sure you've installed service pack 2, then upgrade to IE 7. I would still clear all your cookies and temporary files before upgrading.

Despite all this, I seldom use Internet Explorer any more.

Morning All, I'm back on line. Marcus, thanks for the tip. The mender man has put Firefox on as an alternative to Internet explorer.
