Hi Lisa
the problem you will have is that your worksurface has a bevelled edge, and unless you are a professional carpenter i doubt if you would get a flush fit.. however why not consider a slide out worksurface as we have in our van, please sese photo. the draw could sit above your fridge and be pulled out with a couple of runners, failing that you could have a small worksurface hinged to the side panel by the fridge, that at least you could store the kettle on

Thank you to both of you, some food for thought (see what I did there?) and have printed off the info. to see if OH feels confident enough to have a go at doing something to increase the inside worktop space. Much obliged. Lisa.

Can you not use a very large chopping board or something similar, temporarily, over the sink area? That's what I do if I need more worktop. In fact my 'extra bit' is a melamine tray (dual purpose) and it just fits nicely over the sink area and goes back above one of the pull out drawer baskets when not in use. It's surprising what difference a small amount of extra space makes!

Hi Val - yes there is a fitted thing that fits over sink nicely. We're just not keen on the small amount of room when we want to boil the electric kettle. If the TV is on the shelf over the heater then we consider that too dangerous to have a kettle there. It's just for when we don't have the porch awning up ... and of course with a gangly tall teen flapping about I am sure it's an accident waiting to happen lol.
