Afternoon All
We are looking for an air awning to fit our Astella 316HP Amazon, and because of the door position, think we may come up against a problem.
Has anybody here managed to fit one, and how did you get around the rail dropping just before the door finishes, ie not completely flat for awning
The guide rail drops just before the front slope, hence we could have a problem.

It might be worth asking the dealer for their thoughts. They must have something that fits but you can always check other suppliers for a better deal.

Hi GrizzlyBathPlug,
I have a 2012 Adria Astella, but use a Ventura Full Awning and have no problems with this.
I do not know how the Air Awnings are fixed to the caravan sides, other than that I assume they are still threaded through the rail.
If you get no luck with your question and are unable to try one out, you may need to go down the traditional awning route.
Sorry I cannot be of help.
Regards,

Phoned Adria uk head office and they could not tell me, phoned Kampa and they did not know either.
If anyone has a Air Awning on their Adria Astella, please just let me know make & model number, & i will research further.
Venturaa full awning is a conventional pole awning, and really i wanted air for ease of construction, but thanks for your suggestions & help..

Hi GrizzlyBathPlug,
You may not get an answer to your question, as there are not many people in the UK who have an Astella.
If they do, then they most likely have it on a seasonal pitch and use a conventional pole awning.
The Europeans who own Astella's normally make do with a sun canopy.
As the Air awnings have only been on the market for a few years, there is no reason for the manufactures to change their design to accommodate them.

Hi Lappy
Thanks for your reply, when i pick Van up, we will do some more research, maybe even tow it to a Kampa supplier, and let them decide what will fit & what does not.

Ok I am assuming that the Astella is the one which has the door right at the front and encroaching on the bit where it starts to curve down. I Have and Adria altea 44d tamar with the front door which is a little bit further back than yours but the height should be the same.
I have two air awnings, the larger is a dorema Magnum air 390. You may be able to pull that far enough along to miss the door.
My second is a cheaper suncamp swift air 260 porch and I would suggest that because the airbeam is situated in a horseshoe shape around the front that it would work pretty well on your van. They do a wider version. worth investigating.
The swift incidentally only takes about 10 minutes to erect start to finish. brilliant bit of kit for winter camping as it folds down really small, only has a single airbeam and has taken the worst that the British weather can throw at it with ease.

Grizzly, here is a photo of my sunncamp 260 air awning, the type that SS, mentioned , the top over hang is very short so you may get away with it. The larger one I think is either a 360 or 390.
Lightweight but robust.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and tips, we are still researching & will come back to you when we have purchased.
SunnCamp 260 looks nice, but we were oping for a full awning, on enquires to suppliers, most are saying the door position & sloping rail track, we could have problems.
