Getting van ready for annual service tonight and noticed this box at the bottom of the fire, is it supposed to be fixed as I can slide it 2 to 3 inches to the right, first photo shows it to the right and second one to the left. It holds the battery i presume for the ignition.

It should be fixed, as such.
It simply slides into two raised "flaps" in the base metal of the fire base.
If you take the fire front off you will see it quite easily.
The igniter box should also have a heat shield attached to it.

Hi Kev,
The heat shield is a piece of galvanised tin plate which fits in a groove on the back of the igniter box and is shaped to come over the top of the box at about a 45 degree angle.

The flap you opened is just the battery cover to stop the battery falling out.
