Island bed lathes

In my 7 years old caravan I have an island bed. The mattress is carried on lathes which are attached to the lifting bed top by closed-end plastic sleeves which allow the lathes some end movement when body weight is placed on the bed. Over a period now these plastic sleeves (a bit of a Heath Robinson creation in the first place !) have been breaking, releasing the ends of the lathes, and it is time for me to do something about it. Does anyone know of a mod or another product which solves this problem ? I would rather not go on the trail of replacement plastic sleeves, if possible. Many thanks for any suggestions.

HI lolo
You could have a look on the link below for ideas, but my self i would just replace with the same size & fixing & maybe a couple of extra slats or more, could be put in place to make it a bit more supportive as the old ones will have become tired

Hey thanks, Sproket. I didn't realise they were so available and cheap. I'll check mine and see what kind they are - although I believe mine are alu angle, not tubular. Many many thanks.
