Do I really have to change to a smaller van to discover Italy?

Going boggle-eyed searching for a site for a first time visit. Anywhere Italian within a days drive from Annecy will do. Anyone out there any help, please.

Hi

We have a twin-axle Avondale Landranger. We visited Italy for the first time this year. We stayed for 2 weeks at Camping La Riva at the the northern end of Lake Como. We booked on the internet and sent a cash deposit, euros, by registered post. Very pleasant site with some large pitches. Right on the river bank with lovely views of mountains.

We then moved on to Camping Cavallino on the Jesolo Peninsula near Venice. We booked by phone from La Riva and travelled down in a day. Pleasant site with quite a lot of large size pitches although some corners on access roads were a bit tight, trees, etc and took 2-3 reverses to get round. We had a super pitch within metres of the warm, shallow Adriatic and an easy drive to Punto Sabione for the ferry to Venice.

We hope to go back to Italy next Summer and sample the delights of Rome and further south.

Any other questions you have feel free to ask and I'll answer them if I know the answer!

Happy 'vanning
