Hi all,I'm thinking of buying an older but as roomy as possible 2 berth caravan,a 2002 bailey pageant magenta has caught my eye at a local sales,I was wondering if anyone on here owns one or would know the exact measurements of the seats/beds as due to disabilities my wife and I have to use the single beds plus I'm a little on the tall side so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Crazypotter

When the bed is made up, you could sleep across the bed instead of lengthways and there probably would be room for someone that is close to 7' tall. Use a mattress topper to make it more comfortable.

However if one of you need to get up during the night, you will probably need to climb over the other. If sleeping lenghtways I doubt if the front bunk seats will accommodate someoen who is 6' tall. I think Baileys from 2002 were narrower than 7'6"", but ample room if sleeping across the width of the caravan?

Welcome to the forum. Did have a Google on your behalf but couldn’t find bed size data. Nice looking vans though. Saw one on North Wales Caravans and Leisure website.
Suggest you ring the dealer and ask them to measure for you before you travel.

Good luck

Hi,thanks for your reply, our problem is that we both have mobility issues, my wife has server problems, climbing over would be an issue.we have to used the seats as singles to make it as easy as possible to get in and out. Thanks Pete

Hi,I think this is one of those times when the term "Google knows everything" isn't quite true 🤣I think you're probably right,I'll give the dealer a ring.by the way that is the actual caravan that I'm considering (how's that for coincidence)😉.thanks for your reply Pete.

Googling the van with specifications just returns length and weight. Try Googling for the manual instead.

I found this.

Which showed this:

In that generation of 2 berths I could stretch for a nap using the offside seat but could not lay out fully to sleep overnight. I’m 6 ft 4 in

To give you an idea we have a large twin axle and the front bunks are 72.0 x 180.5cm or a length of 5' 11" so no good for anyone over that height.

We bought an awning from that dealer. It was in 2019 so a few years ago, but I found them really helpful. Good luck. Don’t forget fish and chips in Conwy later 😋
