has any one got or know of a list of kerbweights for all cars made at the momet, that i can look at to pic a good match for my discovery 400 caravam (1221kg)

A reasonably good database of kerbweights is cuddles.abelgratis.net/kerbweights.htm but don't forget that the figures quoted are always approximate, for the base model without any options, so the actual kerbweight can easily be up to 150kg higher than stated in the database.
Don't forget that quite a few cars have maximum permissible towloads less than 85% of the kerbweight if that is what you want to know the figure for, so you will still need to have a look at the manufacturer's specification as well (but this is also usually quoted in the above database).
In the end you will, however, always have to check to confirm the figures because there are some discrepancies.
