We stayed there in October last year, booked for three nights but stayed only one. The sight of lots of old banger caravans parked on the way in wasn't an auspicious start. We were allocated a hardstanding pitch which looked out onto the storage compound at the front and some ugly Leylandii at the rear. In the corner of the pitch was a pile of building materials. A very depressing outlook, and we didn't see any other pitches that offered anything better. There were some pitches on grass with a slightly better outlook, but these appeared to be occupied by long stay residents.

Not what we expected, so we decamped the next day and moved to the excellent CC site at Normanhurst Court near Battle.

The one redeeming feature at Kloof is that the wash block is very good, clean and spacious. But I wouldn't go back there for reasons as above.

Mike.

We have spent a lot of time at Kloof. Mike, when you arrived the site was undergoing major work. The site is still having a lot of work done, but it's better now. A lot of the pitches have been refurbished, and the brand new lower paddock has been built. The caravans you mentioned were there waiting to be disposed of (left, unclaimed by thier owners in the storage yard), and have now gone. Come the summer the site will be much changed and looking good. Every site needs to have maintenance work and upgrading now and then. Most sites would do this in the winter when closed, but Kloof stays open all year and always has guests. It's a nice site with a lot to offer.
