Hi All

Has no stopped at this site it is near Saint Vicent sur Jard ref A31 in the CC travel brochure

Yes - we went in 2003 - saw your posting but as you had already booked I did not want to upset you with any comments! Anyway - they have had plenty of time to improve since then. The bottom of the swimming pool was green and littered - we did not go in. There was no lights in the washing facilities in the evening. It bordered a very busy road with motor bikes racing past at night. The neighbouring farms were active and they were harvesting when we were there. We had to have all windows shut and the temperature was 34 deg cent. We were not too impressed with the local beach - may have been the wrong time when we went (whitsun) but it was full of flies. Suffice it to say it was not one of our favourite and we would not go back, even if it was to check any improvements.

We were just north of there last year at La Yole at St Jean de Monts and were very pleased with the site.

When are you going? If in low season perhaps you may wish to keep your options open, cancel your booking, and if you like it you can stay - if you do not you are free to move without losing out financially.

Hi Lesley

Thanks for your comments whilst they are not good as I am going in high season (end of july). As you have said it was 2003 when you last visited maybe there has been a change or management or owners and they have had time to make changes, has anyone been there since

I shall talk to the CC to see if I can swap, if not, then at least have to try it if its not acceptable then my 'fingers will have do the walking' and move else where, assuming I can find somewhere else.

I should maybe have realised something was wrong as this was the 5th choice site in the Vendee at the time of booking and we were able to get in and the previous four sites were fully booked icluding La Yole

Again thanks for the reply at least I am now armed

One thing to bear in mind Alb, when the CC say the site is fully booked, it just means that their allocation of pitches has been taken. We have been to sites at Whitsun when the CC have said they were fully booked and the sites are only one quarter full. If there is a particular site you would like to go to then try booking direct.
