I have already asked about Lazy Rancho but I wonder if anyone has any advice about this site , we are stopping here for 3 days on our way to Switzerland then 3 again coming back. This will be our first time taking the caravan to Europe and we really would appreciate any advice on the trip and especially on this site.

Many Thanks for and advice, ideas, etc, cheers.

The only things you need to watch out for are a very narrow entrance which needs great care, and, in some parts a fairly difficult access to terraced pitches. Otherwise, it is a super site, well managed, with a decent restaurant and good facilities.

Yes we take it in turns , done nearly that distance in this country , we have driven abroad but this is our first time with the caravan and were very excited , back to the old days when we got butterflies in the tummy before a trip and making it a bit of an adventure, we know loads do it but its all new to us, thanks for your advice though, all the best.

La forge St Marie is nowhere near 400 miles from Calais, the Swiss border and Basel are only a tad over 400 miles.

Caravanners who are fit and plan well and take good breaks should find 400 miles in a day easy if mainly using motorway routes.

My sons pregnant partner did her first long tow run to the south of France last week to meet us. She took her time and stopped four times and covered just over 650kms on her first day.

European continent is rather large with some very good road networks, caravanners should realise that they can cover some good distances safely and easily if they want.

It's actually only about 400 kilometres - so only 256 miles, easily 'doable' in a day, especially with two drivers. We've done 400 miles a day in the past, with two drivers, and still arrived in time to have a leisurely meal, and a bottle of wine. As Sadie says, distances in Europe are much more easily achieved than on the congested, road-closed, roadworks, speed camera'd roads we're used to in Britain.
