I would appreciate any recommendations for sites in this area. Our children have long since left home so we are not looking for discos, entertainment etc. but more a well kept site with clean facilities. Intending to visit in June next year. We have been as far as Switzerland but not to Italy so any advice on routes would be useful.

We have been going to Italy for many years and love the country!

Until last year we had never stayed on Garda. It is beautiful and we shall return this summer. We stayed at Camping Fornella, booked through the Caravan Club, and found it to be a very nice and clean site. We have a large twin axle and were siteded on the new pitching area. There is little shade here but the pitches are very spacious. Toilet/showers are closed for cleaning each day and they are very good. There is a new pool area and play area but the site is not rowdy. The bar and restaurent overlook the lake and is quite wonderful especially at night. We have found that the best way to Italy and Garda is through Germany and over the Brenner. It might be a little longer than through Switzerland but you save the cost of the motorway toll and the long queues through the Gotthard. If you want more detailed routes I will be happy to oblige.

Happy travels BarryB
