Undeniably a great tow car but a bit beyond our budget. Still Ernie might help out one day.

Like it’s predecessors, I don’t doubt that it’s a great car, but I just can’t get used to the offset rear number plate.

The first time I saw one from the rear I couldn’t believe how ugly I thought it loooked, but as is often the case with a new model, as they become more abundant, I suspected I would “warm” to the new look. Unfortunately, I haven’t yet managed to do so ! - The problem is that us humans are wired to associate beauty with symmetry ...

Just my opinion though of course. :)

I do find these comments amusing?

Excellent resale values draw some of the sting from the total cost.

What Car?’s experts predict the car will be worth 55% of the original price after three years and 36,000 miles. That’s good news for private buyers.

How can it be good news to lose £10k a year?

If you were a gambler and lost that amount a year people would say you were mad.

Predictions go out the window at the moment as secondhand diesel car values are plumenting.

The touch screen info system isnt very good at all and for a new model its street behind what Audi,Volvo and BMW have. It hasnt even got Apple play for goodness sake!!!
The grand tour awarded the Discovery 5's tailgate the most ugly award.

I liked my TD5, just not the reliability. I do like a proper 4x4 to look like a 4x4 and this doesn't. It looks much more of a soft roader for school run. This in mind LR have looked at their customer base and given what they wanted. An offset numberplate in my opinion should be square. I don't like the direction that any LR products have taken. Would I buy one if I had the money? No I wouldn't. Would I buy a rust free Japanese import TD5? Yes I probably would. Having now seen the dash of the new 2018 that Marc are replacing mine with, we are both pleased we've got what we've got.
