Hi we are looking at buying a large porch/universal awning for a Sterling elite explorer. Models we,re concidering are Trio Maxi, Dorema Vitess XL, Eurovent Veranda and the Ventura Marlin. The Trio is the longest at 4 meters and looks like it will be the best fit, i.e will just cross one window, the window ahead of the door. We would be grateful for any feed back.

Hi Phillip

We have a Bailey Senator, which is roughly the same size as your van, we have a Eurovent Chamonix porch awning for weekends, and for more space we use a Ventura Pacific size 950, which covers about 3/4 of the van, it is a full awning with a corner adaptor pole which means you have plenty of usable space, without the hassle of putting up a full awning.

Hello Phillip, We use a Bradcot Portico Plus porch awning which is a super thing for short stays.

But we're touring Scotland this year for 6weeks making 2,3,4&5 night stops. A full awning will be too much like hard work but we really like the look of the Eurovent Veranda for the extra width and depth.

Like you, we're still looking.

Hi Keith

Thanks for repplying, I thought about trying the 3/4 aproach, as we still have a Bradcot awning from our preavios van. I did some measurements late last year and it looked as though it would fit. What's put me of is a friend has taken this done this, but it bellows and flaps in the wind and the whole awning rocks around. May be if we had the foam pads sown onto the end pannel, as per proper porch awning it would work. We have an exelent awning alteration/repair company local, so will seek advice.

Phill
