Fairly easy job but time consuming.

1. Remove the old seal carefully by 'peeling' it away from the surround. Makes ure you pull out the staples securing the rubber first.

2. Use a plastic or wooden scraper to get most of the mastic off and then use a rag soaked in white spirit to thoroughly clean the remainder off. Do the same for the area around the window frame.

3. Use Sikaflex 512 or similar and put a bead all around the window frame and the outer edge of the rubber seal - refit, pressing down hard so the sealant oozes out, re-staple the rubber (not in the corners though) Clean off the surplus with the rag. That should be it.

hi, if i were you i would cut an inch strip from you trim somewhere and measure the width of it, a good site for buying new lengths is www.leisureshopdirect.com they have all sizes on there, also they come available in both small and large bulb rubber, the sikaflex sealant is not needed as they come with mastic pre loaded in one edge which is where you need it, as said remove you window furniture (stays and catches etc) then pull out grey insert (reccomend replacing too, available in 23mm and 25mm and grey or white so measure carefully!) then pull staples out and pull rubber off, clean and carefully put new rubber back on, insert goes in easier with some silicone lubricant and ideally the proper tool!, replacing the window furniture is abit tricky as you have to allign everything but just be patient!
