I would also have had an affect on reducing the numbers of Caledonium Midgius for this year. Last summer a high proportion ended up squashed on the ceiling of our caravan hence reducing the amount to breed this year.

When we got home Dusty it took us ages cleaning the ceiling because we were part exchanging the van the next day. When we took it to the dealers they never even bothered to look inside.

don't believe all the media hype folks, the wee beasties are stirring at this very moment and are due to make an entrance, oh, and they're so hungry this year with all the bad weather they have had to endure. the midge belongs to scotland, has the same right as the haggis to be here :)

Best thing that i have found to remove flys, midges etc is these foam blocks magic eraser type thing, I've presure washed cars and scubbed front number plates wing mirrors etc and they didn't shift, quick wipe with on of these blocks and came straight off.

Quote MacH ... "the midge belongs to scotland, has the same right as the haggis to be here".

.... and you are welcome to them both. The only thing that can be said in the haggis's favour over the midge is that they don't bite :O)

quite right m'lordy, thats because they're nocturnal wee creatures and dont tend to make themselves seen during the day.

the pictures you see of them on the postcards dont portray a true picture of them. woe betide anyone who stumbles across on of their wee nests on the hillsides when hillwalking.

ferocious they are, scottish tourism board plays this down so as not to lose out with potential loss of revenue due to folks being afraid to visit. a wee bit like the spanish and italians playing down the fact that the great white circulates in the med.

its time the truth were told to all, no cover stories, i have experienced encounters with these viscious animals before, had to have the glencoe mountain rescue helicopter pick up my buddy and fly him directly to glasgow southern general, next days news announced another hillwalker accident through falling in adverse weather, rubbish, it was the HAGGIS :)
