Whats the best type of levelling device? Do I go "cheap and cheerful" and buy the plastic ramps for about £15 or should I pay £60 or £70 for one that jacks the wheel up?

The yellow Fiamma ramps are light in weight and do a good job but you need the chocks as well to stop the van rolling down again.

I had an early type of van leveller but got rid of it because it deformed the tyre alarmingly and it was very heavy.

Paul - mine were even cheaper - I found an old pallet or two in a refuse skip and "borrowed" some of the 4"x1.5" timbers and a few of the seperating blocks, suitably cut down to 2' lengths. Cost = 0, and they work just as well as the plastic ones. You'll need about 4 lengths of timber to make up to a 4-6" lift - this will be more than adequate for most sites. Why waste your hard earned?
