I am quite new to rallying and I must say I have spoken to a lovely gentleman today. I am going to the caravan and camping clubTVDA Lincoln Christmas market meet. I had tried quite a few other rallies and they are full. It is an un-booked meet and I can even arrive on the Thursday. I was a bit worried about getting stuck as I have not rallied in winter, but he even said he would help me to pitch and tow me off if needed. The information was great and I am looking forward to going.

Hi Milkybar, new to rallying and the forum great to see new members on here.
We are also members of the CCC and have yet to do a proper rally, finding the right time and lack of holiday entitlement seems to get in the way. OH works every other weekend and I do a few Saturdays as well, but must commit to do one very soon.
Parksy our Mod on here is the expert on Rallies and if you have any probs or questions just ask him, he does'nt bite

The few teeth that I've got left are still my own Lord B but there aren't enough left to bite anybody

Hi Milkybar, welcome to the Practical Caravan forum

It's always nice when somebody tries rallying!
Never worry about getting stuck on a C&CC rally, somebody will always give you a tow with a 4x4.
There's nothing to worry about, just make sure that you've got plenty of gas (propane because butane doesn't work well in cold weather) so that you can cook and keep nice and warm, try to make sure that your leisure battery is charged and then your lighting will last ok and make sure that you've got some toilet chemical in case you are on an 'own facilities' site.
If you are not sure of anything when you get there just ask the steward or a fellow rally goer, they will be happy to help and if you want to know anything before you go just ask on this forum.

Most summer C&CC rallies do not have to be booked, you simply turn up.

I attend a lots of rallies myself, and yes have often get stuck on muddy rally fields. You do find, someone with a 4x4 will pull you off and of course, offer them the cost of a pint for the trouble. Be aware if being towed off, the other owner may use grease on their towball and may cause problems if you have an Alko stabiliser, have a can of brake cleaner and give it a spray and clean before you hitch back on to get rid of any grease.
My problems will soon be over, have on order a Skoda Octavia Estate 4x4.

Hi there Milkybar
As you are new to rallying and sound a little unsure about things like getting stuck on muddy fields, you can be sure that help is near to hand.
Just be aware of possible dammage caused by incorrect attachment of tow ropes to your car, I assume that you are not blessed with a 4x4.
One other point to bear in mind is that Lincoln Market rally was cancelled at short notice last year so keep in touch with the organisers, a phone number is in the C&CC out and about supplement.
Hope you enjoy your venture.
Regards
Al

Hello and Wellcome Milkbar.
Who was the gentleman that you spoke to? Was it the person in the magazine because I have been trying to contact them but I cannot get an answer.
I wonder if you could give a contact number?

Many thanks in advance
