Can anyone recommend a CL in Lincolnshire that is within striking distance of Lincolnshire Airfield Museums?
It must have EHU and WC and if there is a pub nearby that does good food, that would be a bonus!

From a 'Blog' of mine.
There is a pub up the road, but did not use; however a nice pub in New Leake also a small Co-op shop. There is one basic toilet, our visit September 2011.

Stayed at a nice Caravan Club 5 van site in Lincolnshire. Willow Farm, Hobhole Bank, New Leake, about 8 miles NE of Boston and also a short run to Skegness. The site is secluded and well sheltered, from the winds that blow across the flat lands of Lincolnshire. Plenty of blue sky and sunshine, but very windy all week. A good grass area, with well spaced EHU points amongst lots of willow trees, hazel trees and apple trees with a pick your own and eat as many as you like policy.

Thanks for this recommendation, Tukums. We hope to visit the Lincolnshire WW2 airfield museums sometime and are just at the planning stage at the moment. We want to base ourselves to be able to visit as many of them as we can.
We've seen a review on 'UK Campsite' for White House Farm, Hobhole Bank, New Leake, (2nd review) which mentioned Willow Farm was nearby, and said the 'roads' were atrocious and narrow to tow on. Did you find the roads a problem getting to Willow Farm?

Came off the A16 at Sibsey, found the roads OK narrow but straight, however a bit undulating, and just kept the speed to 40mph to stop bouncing about. Found the locals tend to drive rather fast on the minor roads and do not like to be held up by a caravan!!!!

Should have mention this C&CC 5 van site, Bridges Lakes, Old Leake, has Carp fishing lakes, toilets and EHU. Was there April this year.

The Co-op sells this local brew!

two sites in the grounds of air museums, Heath Farm at N Rauceby, www.heathfarmcaravanandcampsite.co.uk, other is at the Metheringham Airfield visitor centre, www.metheringhamairfield.org. ( I think this one is listed in CC book of CLs) With the Metheringham site, some of the hardstanding you can use is actually bits of the old airfield roads. Another one you could use is at East KIrkby, which is almost at the gate of the E Kirkby musuem which has a non-airworthy Lancaster. This one is East Kirkby Hideaway, 01790 763733. If you care to email me on hogrider56@hotmail.com I can give you lots more info and website on Lincolnshires wartime heritage, there are many small situations in villages which have wartime connections. There is also a small Cl site about a mile from the gates of Thorpe Camp visitor centre, I'm afraid I dont know the details of this one, but being local, I can soon get it for you.
