I am planning our first trip to France in September to the Loire Valley.

Needless to say I have not clue on where to stay and how to get there.

Their is only my wife and myself and we are looking for a site with good amenities and hopefully a pool /resturant.

I also have a twin axle which I understand could be a problem on some sites.

Your help to find us the perfect site would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks, John

Parc de ferbois, tours. Really large pitches, and central in any direction for wine or site seeing.

John.

Just forget any problems with twin axles, we've never had problems in Europe had only heard of problems on some municiple sitesthat french "travellers" frequented.

We've also stayed at Chantepie (www.campingchantepie.com) and can reccomend.

The french Equestrian Riding School - Le Cadre Noir de Saumur maybe back from holiday break in September. Check out www.cadrenoir.fr.

The Saumur Champagne Methodnoise sparkling wine houses are a good vist if you like a drop of Bubbly apart from the normal Loire wines. Also if you like mushrooms the caves of the Loire near Saumur are worth a visit and there are different types to try and buy if you fancy a feast in the van.

Hi John,

what were you hoping to do/see here in the Loire? There are very many Chateaus to explore, fantastic markets to browse, great fishing to be had, and generally lots & lots of relaxing time spent with a glass of wine in your hand! If you want a nice, quiet, peaceful site, then we're here to oblige. We will be installing the pool ready for the summer season, but we don't have a restaurant! That said, if you check out our website, you'll note that Syb (the boss), is planning to offer meals cooked on site on certain days! if you need more info, let us know? Otherwise, we hope you enjoy your first time in the Loire. Hopefully, it won't be your last! We came here for the first time last year, one year later, we moved! To a campsite!! Enjoy!
