We stayed at Wyatts Covert, the C.C. site at Denham but this is a members only site. Trains run to London from the station a short drive away but you need to double check the times. I imagine weekdays will be less busy in town. Try to see the lights as dusk falls and darkness comes - by then you will probably be shattered by the shopping and be ready to return to your 'van.

We also stayed at Wyatts Covert earlier this year.

The station's a short distance away (walkable) with regular trains into Marylebone.

You can buy travelcards for 1, 3 or 7 days (I think) which cover all your trains, buses and tubes.
