I think, although im not sure that this site is Caravan Club, but after spending several hours on the first day they were allowing bookings, 'phone in one hand pushing redial, the other hitting the fast track booking page refresh button, we have finally booked our 2 week summer holiday for Longleat - I cant wait!

Has anyone else been here who can share experiences? We are hoping to explore not only Longleat itself, but the surrounding areas too, we tend to like going to Castles/Stately Homes/Gardens and such - Neither of us drink so we arent too bothered about pubs, but we bith llove cooking and we wouldnt mind a few nice places maybe to go out and eat...

Claire & David,

My son and his family went to Longleat last year and enjoyed it so much that they have just booked again for their summer holiday. They also purchased on line from Tesco using their Club card.....a passport each for the activities at Longleat and saved themselves a fortune.

Having watched the TV series,we quite fancy going ourselves now.

We have stopped at longleat on the way back from our main holiday in the South West the last two years. There is so much to do in and around Longleat estate that as yet we have not had time to explore the area yet but there is a lot of national trust properties located near the site. Plenty of country pubs nearby which I imagine would serve good food.

We joined the national trust while we were at Clumber park last February, by May with the places we had visited the family subscription had paid for itself.

Andrew,

If you go onto the Longleat website

www.longleat.co.uk at the side there is a column which says Your Visit.Go to that and then click on prices. The passport information will then come up.The Tesco web site under club card deals gives info. on days out....Longleat is in there, along with many other deals.Hope this helps you.

We stayed there for a week last June with our 2yr old Grandson who loved the Train ride and Teacup ride, he still talks about it. Get a passport which is very good value especially if you get them via Tesco points. The House is stunning and would probably need a couple of visits to take it all in. Just as well your not drinkers, as the site is in the middle of Longleat and not really within easy walking to the pub. The stories of hearing the Lions roar and Sealions barking are all true. You can go on a boat ride and feed the Sealions, 50p for a cup of spratts, they come from nowhere when you hang one over the rail. If you fancy a day out towards the south coast, a visit to Bovington Tank museum is worth it if you like military stuff. Only saying that because I'm an ex Tankie.

Enjoy your stay, Brian
