mains water

I have a new Avondale Dart. This model has an on-board water pump. The dealer (and Avondale) have assured me that I can connect the water inlet point direct to mains on super pitches. Whilst this may be feasible, the thought of having the caravan internals connected to mains pressure concerns me somewhat.

Has anyone done this before with this van ( or other) ?

John.

I used to then one day it blew the pipe off my bathroom sink tap. Admitted it was in France where pressures are much greater. As I tend only to use super pitches I now connect to my Aqua Roll and pump from there. Even then when we leave the van we turn the pump off.Good Luck. JTS.

John, yes you can connect to the mains with the correct equipment, BUT and it is a big BUT, the pressure to the van is regulated by a valve in the mains hose connector kit, and if that fails, and they do, then you will have mains pressure to the internal pipework, which is NOT suitable for such pressure and will blow, in some cases, every joint apart and flood your van.

The safest way to make use of fully serviced pitches is to use the mains fill adaptors for the aquaroll, and still use your drop in pump to supply the water to the van from the aquaroll.
