Like most of you good folks we too have had to budget more carefully for this years holiday. In my efforts to feed my family and still make it feel a bit special when away, I can offer the following tips. We sometimes take picnics, but these tips are based on sit down establishments. Firstly, check out Martinsmoneysavingtips for the latest vouchers. e.g. 2for 1 at lots of restaurants as well as 50% off at La Tasca. Oh yes, there are buy one get one free offers on hot meals at Roadchef. We usually take away a range of vouchers; some we use others we chuck. On a recent visit to Brighton we used Wetherspoons at the Marina. Very good value food and branches all over the country. I understand Yates's are similar. At Peacehaven, just to the East, we came across a Carvery that was doing a very good roast dinner for £3.59p and the drinks were very reasonable too. Toby Carverys are a little more but are more widespread. Another good source is the Good Pub Guide. Look for the £ symbol that indicates good value food. This hasn't failed us yet and the portions are substantial. I hope this will be of help to you and if you have anything to add, please do so. If you save me money, then I shall be happy to raise a glass to you in the forthcoming holidays. Butler

Hi If anyone on Facebook, you can decome a follower of Toby carvery, they often do vouchers you can print off, and when using them, sometimes you are given more vouchers in restraunt. My husband and I often eat out cheeper this way, and the kids love the icecream at the end of the meal. Ta julia

We all need to save money nowadays, for those with an iphone a very good free app is 'vouchercloud', looks at local discounts for where you are, and shows savings to be had both local and national in many different catagories.
