Does anyone know if you can download a manual for our very recently purchased Swift Silhouette 1997, 2 berth from. We are having trouble working out how to operate everything.

Also the waterpump won't stay presurised and clicks on all the time. Does anyone know what we need to check?

Most of the equipment fitted will not be specific to Swift. The water and space heaters are likely to be Truma (or Carver, since taken over by Truma and you may well get leaflets on them from Truma UK.

The water pump is probaly clicking because it is controlled by a pressure switch in the line, rather than by micro switches fitted to individual taps. Check the cold water lines (usually blue) and see if you can find an in-line fitting with two wires connected to it and a knob at the top. Turning the knob will change the pressure at which the pump starts and stops and this also depends on the state of charge of the on-board battery. It was not uncommon to have to adjust the setting if running on just the battery alone as against having a mains hook-up connected. A bit of a fiddle and one reason why many vans used taps fitted with microswitches which operate as the tap lever is moved and are not affected by changes in battery voltage. The other reason for failing to stay pressurised would be a small leak on one of the many joints - it won't take much to loose pressure- and all you can do is to carefully check each joint in turn with the system pressurised.

none of this is particularly difficult, but i well appreciate it may not seem that way if you have not done it before. If you could find an experienced caravanner friend or neighbour they may well be able to help you quite quickly. Hope this helps but don't hesitate to ask again / more - that's what the forum is all about.

The fridge will most probably be Electolux now Dometic and again instructions should be available from them. The toilet will most likely be Thetford and likewise - use Google to get to the websites.

I think the set up is the same as my old Duette. The pressure switch is built into the back of the whale inlet and is accessed under the front seats. I used to have to adjust the switch every time the battery ran down a bit if not on EHU then re-adjust it when the battery was fully charged.
