There a lot of talk about varios caravan manufactures turning out crappy vans that bits keep falling apart and the dreaded word damp ingress.

strange how it is the modern type of van that is falling into this catergory, vans of yesteryear seem to blodd on I had a 1998 Bailey Pageant Imperial never had any problems why i think because the workers took more pride in their work, nowadays its all rush rush rush, If you read the Bailey history book they take you through a complete assy of a van giving the time it takes to do each part of manufacture, not much room for error, my latest van is just over two years old failed a damp test on its second service, crackled rear panel within six weeks I have taken it in for a complete new rear panel to be fitted, on arrival at the dealers the repair manager noticed another crack on the opposite side of the rear panel.

Its probable due to incorrect drilling of the rear panel(My thoughts Operator had the shakes when drilling the holes,

no jigs involved)

All Baileys are made the same now,so this fault could occure anytime, so glad I only payed under £10.000 and not the sums some people are quoting.

Notice that Swift are using the type of manufacture , so they are not on my next purchase list

Do motor homes suffer the problems I wonder .

The answer to your last question is 'yes'.

Most motorhomes are made in a similar fashion to caravans and therefore the same 'glitches' can occur. The smae manufactuers can also do both. However, if it is a panel van conversion then it is more likley to be 'bespoke' by a smaller manaufactuer and usually have a much higher satisfaction rating than something from the 'big boys'. However, costs are higher so you pays your money etc etc.
