Hello
Am after a bit of advice. I have had a problem with my caravan and moisture. I had it checked by an independent company. However the company I bought the caravan off wanted to do there own. So I let them do it today. And some of the area readings are between 14 to 42%. The floor being the worst. Dies anyone know if I am in my rights to get a refund as I have only had the van 6 months and 1 week.

Thanks

Under the Consumer Protection Act you can only insist on your money back within a month for faults although this can be extended to six months but you have exceeded so I think you will have problems although it does no harm to ask. If you used a credit card or HP for any part of the purchase then you have a claim against the finance company as well as the dealer so contact them as well. You can demand a repair from the dealer and the finance companies so do not be fobbed off. 42% sounds like a figure that must have meant the caravan was damp when you bought it but that needs expert advice.
Members of either of the two main clubs can use their Legal helpline which most find very useful, your household contents insurance or any union membership may also have one for you but they will have less experience of caravans. There is also Citizens Advice but their advice seems a bit hit and miss from what I have been told.

Whilst some good advice has been given, without more information that information is best guess.
To have more of an idea of what you can, or cannot, do we need to know quite a lot more.
Is the van brand new?
If not new, how old is it?
Did you buy from a reliable caravan dealer or what kind of place did you buy it?
Did the seller give any warranty or was it "Sold as Seen"?
Was the van advertised as damp free?
