Hi Andrew

I've got a 130. I've just looked on my insurance documents and it states it's 130, so I don't know what is happening with yours.

I'd be interested to find out too.

I have heard on motoring forums that different versions of turbo-diesel are difficult to tell apart, even for franchised dealers. If the chip mapping is the only difference, then there are no external signs.

If you've told your insurers it's a 130 but they want to charge you the premium for a 115, just accept it! You've disclosed all material information so they can't reject a subsequent claim.

if you go to this website , www.fordmondeo.org/forum , these guys will help you identify exactly what model it is. im sure there should be an 8 in the VIN number , 2nd row of numbers down on the VIN id on drivers side door pillar for 130 models.

hope this helps.

Better still take the vin number to a ford dealer and they will be able to tell you the engine spec for your vehicle.

Andrew,

It's very common for the details of Registration (V5) and what on insurer's screens to differ considerably it's usually to do with trim levels and engine outputs.

Hi Andrew,

Iv'e just come across this thread, I'm picking my Mondeo 130 on the 1st Feb and when I tried to get my insurer to change my policy from my old car to the mondeo they reckon its not on their database, only estate model is a 130 according to them.

Anyway after about half an hour on the phone we finally had to insure the hatchback as an estate. How strange is that?
