Hi We are looking to book one of the above sites during the Easter hols (not the BH weekend). We have three young children who love riding their bikes and we like walking. A decent play area is a must. Which site is best for us or any views appreciated. Thankyou very much. Denise (Cornwall)

Hi Denise

I agree with Jerry although we spend more time on the Broadway site, mainly because the kids don't come any more,Moreton has the larger play area although I think some of the pitches may be smaller than Broadway, and Broadway is almost all hard standings if that matters to you, whereas Moreton still had a lot of grass pitches last year when we were there.

Ive been to both and have kids aswell. I prefer broadway because it quieter and more open but thats just me. You would see the kids riding around most of the site on broadway and the play area is in the middle you can see it from alot of the pitches. The pitches are huge and the facilties are second to none. you can walk into the beautiful village of broadway the village is more chocolate boxey than moreton. There is a small budgens supermarket in the village and lots of quaint shops aswell.

moreton is a totally different site. My partner prefers moreton. The site feels more cramped, the pitches are smaller aswell but the 3 toilet blocks are second to none but its still a beautiful site and lovely area. The play area was bigger than broadway but it was away in a field by the dog walk and it looks newer than when i last went. It has a crazy golf course aswell. You cant really watch the kids on there bikes beause its has tress all around it.

You can walk in to the village and its alot bigger and busier than broadway. Market day is i think a tuesday. theres a bigger budgens in moreton and a tescos express but i would rather drive to stow to the tescos there because budgens is so expensive. There is a not so great chip shop in moreton also a fire college which has a swimming pool which im sure the public can use something the kids may wanna do. There is a huge park and play are in moreon its self opposite the budgens by the bridge.

when you go to this area and either site you must visit, stratford but also the stunning quaint village of bourton-on-the-water. google pictures of it, its so beautiful.

anyway your choice let us know which one you choose.

Thanks everyone. I have booked Moreton and what was the deciding factor is that some old friends of ours have moved their and they actually live in Moreton and we are going to meet up. Both sites look lovely although the pictures of Broadway don't look so nice. I'm not keen on the rows and rows of hardstandings - it all looks to car parky. Denise.

We've had Christmas and New Year at Moreton in Marsh a couple of times (2007-2008 and 2008-2009) and it was lovely. Its only a short walk into the little town and there are restraunts and pubs with 10% off meals on production of your club card. The Monarch Way long distance trail goes right near the site and you can cobble together walks of various lenths to suit your families abilities. Batsford Arboretum is also terrific and only a mile or so across the fields. Hope you enjoy Moreton as much as we do.

Just re-read my post...please ignor spelling mistakes. I'll teach me to write things in a rush!

Hi Denise

Not been to Broadway site, but been to Moreton a few times and like it. Such easy access into village and surrounding areas. Just a tip though - when you go, try to get a pitch as far away as possible from the busy road that runs along side it! First time we went we were right by the road and we didn't sleep very well with lorries and cars thundering past well into the night. We were wise after that and never had any more sleeping problems! Toilet and shower blocks been refurbished and very clean as with all the caravan club sites. Will be ideal for the children. Enjoy your holiday.

Jo-Anne,

We staeyed at Moreton during the October 1/2 term last year. The kids play area seemed fairly new. Great big swing basket, climbing wall etc. Better than the usual CC standard for the play areas.

Cheers,

Mathew
