Richard, first of all check that the battery charger is actually working.
Use a multimeter and with no power connected to the van take a reading of volts at the battery terminals.
Then plug in mains power, ensure th echarger is switched on and take another reading at the battery terminals, it should be about 13.5 to 13.8 volts.
Assuming that you have, without the power on, a reading of at least 12 volts at the battery, energise the mover, without being engaged on the wheels, as you press one of the buttons to start the mover read the voltage at the battery, it should NOT drop below 12v, if it does, the battery is not holding a charge.
If you have let the battery run down over storage time, it may be irrecoverable, but take it off the van and try a good charge on a multi stage charger which will take it up to 14.8 volts and possibly reverse the sulfation on the plates.
Just a point,an 80ah battery is the smallest possible battery which can power a mover, better to uprate to 110ah.
